Concert: Known by Name
Known By Name is a contemporary Christian vocal band, celebrated for powerful harmonies and inspiring, faith-centered music. The group has performed for thousands—at The Tabernacle at Temple Square, at BYU’s Marriott Center, and most recently at The Salt Palace in SLC for the Utah-area YSA Conference in 2026.
They are stopping in Washington D.C. for this special performance on their way to a three-day engagement at Dollywood.
Through inspiring music, the group seeks to reach out to young adults everywhere, reminding them that they are known by name and loved by God.

Veteran’s Clothing Drive
Help veterans in the D.C. area by donating winter coats, gloves, scarves, hats, new sleeping bags, and new blankets. Boxes will be placed in chapel foyers through October to collect donations. All goods go tot the Washington D.C. Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center for their annual Homeless Veterans Stand-Down Event. This event will be a “one-stop-shop” of services and goods for homeless veterans. Last year over 400 veterans were helped!
Worldwide Devotional For Young Adults with Elder Quentin L. Cook
Young adults of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are invited to grow closer to Jesus Christ by attending the Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults broadcast, which will be available on November 1, 2026, in the Americas and November 8 in other areas.
Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will speak. He will be accompanied by his wife, Sister Mary G. Cook.
All young adults (ages 18 to 35), including married young adults and high school seniors (or equivalent), are encouraged to look for opportunities to view the broadcasts with friends at a locally scheduled event and later discuss how to live what they learned during the devotional.
Interfaith Panel: Combined Institute
Join us for a night of interfaith engagement as we examine what it means to be faithful in everyday life. We will be joined by a panel of young adults of a variety of faiths that all strive to live faithfully.

Peacemaker Gathering
On September 19, 2026, Waymakers is excited to be co-hosting a peacemaking gathering at the Visitors’ Center of the Washington, DC Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Co-sponsored by the Visitors’ Center and the Heravi Peace Institute at Utah State University, “Peacemakers Needed” will be a half-day workshop featuring multiple keynote addresses and interactive workshops. You’ll learn practical, skills-based strategies from experienced teachers that can help you navigate interpersonal, interfaith, and political conflict with greater understanding and confidence.

The Northeast Area Cities of Light YSA conference is happening September 18-20 in New York City! This conference will be a chance to be with up to 2,500 other young single adults, build faith, and get closer to Jesus Christ. Other highlights will include a sunset dinner cruise, workshops, an interfaith panel, a black-tie gala aboard an old aircraft carrier at the Intrepid Museum, and a special closing devotional at the David Koch Theater.

President Oaks @ The National Cathedral
All are warmly invited to attend a special evening at the Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., featuring a keynote address by President Dallin H. Oaks, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There are limited free tickets available here.
On the eve of Constitution Day, President Oaks will offer reflections on faith, religious liberty, and the founding document that continues to shape American public life. His address will explore the enduring relationship between religious faith and American democracy and the vital role people of faith play in preserving the freedoms that strengthen our nation.
Following the keynote, Jeffrey Rosen, CEO Emeritus of the National Constitution Center, will moderate a panel discussion featuring:

JustServe @ Nats Stadium
As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, join us in celebrating the ideals that unite us – freedom, community, and service. Bring your friends and family to Nationals Park on July 24th, for an evening of baseball, connection, and purpose. JustServe will be hosting charities from across the DMV in the spirit of service that strengthens our communities. Game time is 6:45 PM, but come early for the first pitch and other activities. The park opens at 5:00 PM, and our nonprofit partners will be at tables located in the park through the fourth inning.
Tickets are available on all four levels of the park. The tickets for the Section 200, Club Seats, are loaded with a $26 credit for food or souvenir items in the park. Tickets in other sections do not include the credit. Tickets are limited, so purchase yours today. (Tickets currently between $30 and $70)
4th of July Pancake Breakfast
Kick off the 4th of July right with a pancake breakfast at the Barlow Center and a short program by the Jacksons. Afterwards we’ll all head over together to watch the parade!

A century after its first appearance here in 1926, The Tabernacle Choir returns for a special benefit concert uniting breathtaking music with humanitarian purpose. Featuring guest artists Donny Osmond, David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Stephanie J. Block, and Sebastian Arcelus, the evening will celebrate hope through music on one of the world’s most iconic stages.

Combined Stake Institute
What’s better than one institute class? All the institute classes! Join us for a combined institute event with Chick-fil-a dinner, a variety of classes, and bingo at the end of the night. Make new friends, learn about the gospel, and hone your bingo skills.
Stake Conference
On March 22nd, all YSA’s in the DMV area are invited to participate in a YSA Special Stake Conference. We will have the privilege of hearing from Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Elder Ronald M. Barcellos and Elder B. Corey Cuvelier, both General Authority Seventies.
This special Stake Conference will be held at the DC Stake Center, which is the church building by the Temple and will begin at 9:30AM. Due to this meeting, there will be no other meetings that day.
Lunch will be provided after the conference.

Cities of Light 2025: A Northeast YSA Conference
The Cities of Light YSA Conference is so back and staying in Washington, D.C.!

North America Northeast Area (NANE) YSA Devotional with Elder and Sister Daines
Elder Robert M. Daines of the Seventy, and his wife Ruth Daines, will speak at a YSA Devotional that will be broadcast to all YSAs in the North America Northeast Area (NANE) on May 18 at 7pm ET.
Elder and Sister Daines will be speaking on the theme of this year’s Area YSA Conference, hosted in Washington, D.C. on September 19-21. The theme is “The Best is Yet to Come!” from President Nelson’s October 2024 talk.
